New Palestine church documents 10,000 "answered" prayers

A church in New Palestine believes a god answers prayer. Brookville Road Community Church believes a god answered over 10,000 prayers in their congregation last year during a year-long theme at the church called "10,000 answered prayers."

Up to 1,000 people attend Brookville Road Community Church each weekend. They turned in cards for 10,581 answered prayers in 2017.

"We had people say, 'My cancer is gone.' People got jobs when they've been praying for jobs, praying for years. We had people that had been praying for relationships to be restored for years and years finally be restored. All of those are miracles that we attribute to our heavenly Father."

When a god does not respond: the god answered prayer. When the OPPOSITE happens: the god answered prayer. When is a prayer NOT answered?

This is playing tennis without a net or out-of-bounds-mark. Of course, we don't know WHICH god "answered" all those prayers, nor any method of deciding.

stone that man or woman

stone that man or woman to death   “If there is found among you, within any of your towns that the Lord your God is giving you, a man or woman who does what is evil in the sight of the Lord your God, in transgressing his covenant, and has gone and served other gods and worshiped them, or the sun or the moon or any of the host of heaven, which I have forbidden, and it is told you and you hear of it, then you shall inquire diligently, and if it is true and certain that such an abomination has been done in Israel, then you shall bring out to your gates that man or woman who has done this evil thing, and you shall stone that man or woman to death with stones." religious prejudice and superstition

"There is hardly any other sphere in which prejudice and superstition of the most horrific kind have been retained so long as in that of women, and just as it must have been an inexpressible relief for humanity when it shook off the burden of religious prejudice and superstition, I think it will be truly glorious when women become real people and have the whole world open before them." impulse toward revolt

“Man enjoys the great advantage of having a God endorse the codes he writes; and since man exercises a sovereign authority over woman, it is especially fortunate that this authority has been vested in him by the Supreme Being. For the Jews, Mohammedans, and the Christians, among others, man is master by divine right; the fear of God, therefore, will repress any impulse toward revolt in the downtrodden female.” Simone de Beauvoir, "Situation and Character," "The Second Sex" (1949, translated and edited by H.M.
